Happy Easter!

Praise the Lord! Easter is such an amazing time of the year because it's almost like New Year, but without the late night party. For those of us that practice our faith in Jesus Christ, it is a time of renewal, a chance to turn a new leaf, start over, try a little harder to be a better person (practice what we preach if you will). When our Lord died on the cross He died to save us from eternity in Hell, He cleansed us from sin and when He rose from the dead on Easter Sunday to sit at the right hand of God
He gave us new life. Although my kids are still too young to wrap their little minds around this, it is never too early to lay the foundation of faith. Bella now understands that the reason we have candy and little surprises on Easter is the same reason why we have gift at Christmas, to celebrate the life of our Savior. It's our way to praise Him by being thankful for family, friends (even holiday friends like Santa or the Easter Bunny), and special traditions like treats and gifts. Because without Him, we would have none of this. And this is something she can even connect to. But this year is even more special because Sam is here to share it all with us. Coloring eggs, pictures with the Easter Bunny, dressing up for Easter services, visiting with friends at church, egg hunts, big dinner with family, and of course the baskets. Bella actually asked the Easter Bunny for candy canes, which she figured would be easy enough since he is friends with Santa and all. Do you know how hard it is to find Candy Canes in April, (LOL)! But as always, Mommy comes through...Oops, I mean the Easter Bunny came through. Sam really seemed to enjoy himself too, but he looks like he's enjoying himself all the time anyway. He just follows his big sister around. We all really had fun with each other, but I'm not sure who enjoyed the day more, the kids or me;)
